Section 111 — Organised crime

Any continuing unlawful activity by a person, singly or jointly, as a member of an organised crime syndicate or on its behalf, by use of violence, threat, intimidation, coercion or other unlawful means to obtain direct or indirect material benefit.

In simple terms

A new offence covering organised crime syndicates — extortion, contract killing, cyber-crime, trafficking and economic offences run as an organised network.

Punishment

Death or life imprisonment if it results in death; otherwise 5 years to life and fine.
