Motor Vehicles Act, 1988
Whoever drives a motor vehicle at a speed or in a manner which is dangerous to the public shall be punishable.
Rash or dangerous driving (including using a phone while driving, jumping red lights) is punishable.
First offence: imprisonment up to 1 year and/or fine up to Rs.5,000.
