Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
Any act, omission or conduct of the respondent shall constitute domestic violence if it harms or injures or endangers the health, safety, life, limb or well-being of the aggrieved person, including physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and economic abuse.
Domestic violence is not only physical — it includes sexual, verbal, emotional and economic abuse (e.g. denying money, throwing out of the house).
