The financial assistance is provided in the form of activity-based small grants to support engagement in fisheries and aquaculture-related enterprises.
The financial assistance is disbursed directly to the verified bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, ensuring transparency and timely credit.
These grants are non-repayable, and are linked to the scale, nature, and viability of the proposed fisheries-related activities.
In addition to financial support, beneficiaries also receive facilitation services through designated Credit Intermediaries, who provide handholding support for loan application preparation, documentation, follow-up with banks, and credit linkage.
The scheme further ensures that capacity building and training interventions are extended to beneficiaries to help them navigate institutional financing systems.

The applicant must be a fisheries microenterprise or individual operating in the fisheries/aquaculture value chain.
The applicant must be registered on the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP).
The applicant must have a valid bank account linked with Aadhaar.
The applicant must require institutional credit for fisheries-related activities.
The applicant must submit the required documentation through the online portal.
The applicant must agree to verification and validation processes as stipulated by the Department of Fisheries.

The application process for availing benefits under Component 1-A of the PM-MKSSY is completely online and facilitated through the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP).
The following are the detailed and sequential steps involved in the application process:
**Step 1:** **Visit the Official Website of the "National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP)"**
The applicant must visit [the official website of NFDP](https://nfdp.dof.gov.in/nfdp/#/) using any web browser.
Click on “Register” for new registration or “Login” if already registered.
**Step 2:** **Complete the Registration Process on NFDP**
