Past Happened before now I drank water yesterday.
Future Will happen later I will drink water tomorrow.

2. How Tenses Change the Sentence

Present Continuous am/are/is + –ing I am reading.
Past Continuous was/were + –ing I was reading.
Future Continuous will be + –ing I will be reading.
Present Perfect have/has + past‑participle I have read.
Past Perfect had + past‑participle I had read.
Future Perfect will have + past‑participle I will have read.

–ing = “action in progress”
Past‑participle = “finished action” (e.g., read, gone, seen)
