Para Jumbles – Study Notes
(English Language – Sikkim Patwari / Lekhpal Program)
1. What Are Para Jumbles?
Para jumbles are short paragraphs (usually 6–10 sentences) where the sentences are given in a random order.
The task is to arrange them in a logical, coherent sequence and then write the paragraph in one line (or a few lines) as the final answer.
2. How to Approach a Para Jumble
| Step | What to Do | Why it Helps |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Read All Sentences | Quickly skim the sentences once. | Gives a sense of the overall topic. |
| 2. Identify Connectors | Look for words/phrases that signal order: first, next, then, finally, in the end, etc. | These are natural “anchors” for placement. |
| 3. Find the Introductory Sentence | Usually a broad statement or a definition. | Sets the theme of the paragraph. |
| 4. Create a Rough Outline | Sketch a mini‑timeline on a piece of paper: Intro → Body → Conclusion. | Keeps the structure in mind. |
