Guide

How the ATS resume checker works

The ATS resume checker compares the resume in your builder with a job description you paste. It pulls the most frequent meaningful terms from the job post, checks which of them appear in your resume, and gives you a keyword match score with a list of matched and missing keywords. It also flags common structure problems such as a missing summary or achievements without numbers.

How to use it

  1. Add your details in the Resume Builder, or create a resume with AI first.
  2. Paste the full job description into the box.
  3. Click Analyze Resume vs Job.
  4. Add the missing keywords that genuinely match your experience, then run the check again.

Who it is for

  • Job seekers applying through online portals and company career sites
  • Freshers who want to match their first resume to a job post
  • Anyone tailoring one resume to several roles

What you get

  • Keyword match score for this job
  • Matched and missing keywords
  • Checks on summary, quantified achievements and skills

Limitations. This is a keyword match estimate. It does not run any employer's actual ATS software, and each company configures its system differently. A high score does not guarantee a shortlist. Only add keywords that are true for you.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ATS resume checker?

An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software employers use to collect and filter applications. An ATS resume checker estimates how well your resume matches a job post, mostly by comparing keywords, so you can fix gaps before you apply.

How is the ATS score calculated here?

The checker takes up to 24 of the most frequent meaningful words in the job description and checks whether each one appears in your resume. The score is the share of those keywords your resume contains.

Do I need to log in?

No. The check runs in your browser and works in guest mode. You only verify your email if you want to save your resume or download it.

Is my job description stored?

The job description is processed in your browser for the ATS check and is not sent to our server for this tool.
