Guide
How the LinkedIn headline generator works
This tool writes two parts of your LinkedIn profile from your resume: a one-line headline that combines your role and key skills, and a first-person About section of 3 to 4 short paragraphs built from your summary, top achievement and skills.
How to use it
- Fill in your role, summary and skills in the Resume Builder.
- Click Generate next to Headline.
- Click Generate next to About Section.
- Edit both, then paste them into your LinkedIn profile.
Who it is for
- Students and freshers setting up a first profile
- Professionals refreshing a profile before a job search
- Anyone whose LinkedIn no longer matches their resume
What you get
- A LinkedIn headline
- A first-person About section
- Text that matches your resume
Limitations. LinkedIn limits headline length, so trim long suggestions. The About section is a draft: add your own voice, specific results and what you want next.
