How DocMind AI handles your documents

A plain-language description of what happens to a file after you upload it, written from how the app actually works.

No account

DocMind AI does not ask for your name, email or phone number. Documents are linked to a browser session instead.

Session-only access

A document can only be opened, analyzed, chatted with or deleted from the session that uploaded it.

Delete any time

The Delete button removes the stored file, the analysis and the chat history for that document.

What is stored

When you upload a file, DocMind AI stores:

  • The file itself, on the CodeSala server in a private folder that is not publicly reachable by URL.
  • The file name, file type and size.
  • The reading mode and language you chose.
  • The extracted text and the analysis result (summary, key points, risks and so on).
  • Your questions and the answers from the document chat.
  • A random session identifier that links these records to your browser.

Sessions and cookies

DocMind AI uses a session cookie to remember which documents belong to you. The session expires after a period of inactivity (currently 120 minutes). After that, a new session starts and earlier documents can no longer be opened from your browser. They are not shown to anyone else. If you do not want a file to remain on the server, delete it before you leave.

AI processing by a third party

To produce the explanation and answer chat questions, the document content (extracted text, and for PDFs and images the file itself) is sent to an AI provider through its API. DocMind AI currently uses Google Gemini. The provider processes the content under its own API terms. Do not upload documents you are not allowed to share with such a service.

Advertising

Pages on codesala.in, including DocMind AI, load Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show and measure ads. Your uploaded documents are not passed to the advertising script.

Deleting your data

  1. Open My documents.
  2. Open the document you want to remove.
  3. Press Delete and confirm. The file, the analysis and the chat are removed.

Sensitive documents

Medical reports, ID documents and financial papers contain personal information. Consider removing or covering account numbers and ID numbers before uploading when they are not needed for the explanation. DocMind AI does not need them to explain a document.
